I borrowed this great tutorial from my friend Roshanda Gilmore below because it is just a really neat and easy way to increase your Facebook FansRead More→

So I guess Facebook removed the little bio info box from our personal profiles where a lot of independent business owners wrote a link to their business sites, blogs or even fan pages. Sigh. I’ sure they had a good reason for this??? Maybe they are trying to really separate Facebook personal profiles from business profiles more. Who knows?

But where there is a will, there is a way right? Here is a brief tutorial on where you can add a link to your facebook fan page right from your personal profile so that at least you can display a link to your Fanpage so there is someway for folks to find out what you do (if that’s one of your goals on Facebook). It’s super simple, check it out and Happy New Year!

How To Display Your Fan Page Link On Your Personal Profile

If you found this tutorial helpful, please leave me a comment below and/or share with your friends. THANK YOU!!!

There are many ways to syndicate your blog content on social media sites such as Facebook. Syndication, as you know, increases your content visibility and potential followers. Upon some research I stumbled upon NetworkedBlogs. This application allows you to follow other “blogs” and connect everything through Facebook. This video tutorial shows you how to connect your Facebook Fan Page to your blog thru Networked Blogs by adding a Blog Tab to your Facebook Fan Page.

Note: As experience has shown me in the past, not everyone gets exactly the same result from adding Facebook apps, there always seems to be a little quirk here and there, so if you encounter any issues feel free to post and I will try to address them as they come up. This should work just as explained for 80% of you though :-) .  Enjoy!

You can only add tabs on Facebook now on Fan Pages, fyi.

1- Find the NetworkedBlogs app via search bar

2- Add it to your page

3- Click on register your blog

4- Verify your blog ownership

5- Go thru the syndication process to add content to Facebook tab and/or wall

If you come up with quirks, let me know via comments. Have fun networking with other bloggers!

PS: You can go to NetworkedBlogs on Facebook and follow other blogs and their feed will show up on that page for you to review, like, comment, etc… :-)

I’ve heard some mixed reviews about the new facebook profile. Pretty much ranging from bad to worse! LOL. But with all things new, also come fresh opportunities, so I’m going to continue to explore what little functionalities this new facebook profile can offer.

We discovered, thanks to Rachel Jackson, how to add your fan page to your profile page (in lieu of the bio box that was removed Arg). If you missed that video from RJ on how to optimize your new facebook profile, watch it here.

In today’s video we will explore how to feature a set of friends (maybe your “tribe”?) on your Facebook home profile right below your profile picture. Hope this is useful and enjoy!

I recorded a video a few weeks ago and posted it on my blog about this subject (how to get your offline business online), you can watch it here.

But browsing around for other relevant information on this topic I came across and video article by the Social Media Examiner that was right to the point.

Specifically, Bryan Elliot (founder of Linked OC), talks about:

How social media impacts at the local level how people stay connected on both:

  • Real life events
  • Social media

How on a local scale social media:

  • Connects people in a more powerful way
  • Helps buyers find sellers, or businesses, on a hyper-local scale
  • Gives small businesses a cost effective tool to find local customers
